I loved drawing and painting from an early age and when I left school studied Fine Art at Jacob Kramer College in Leeds and Newport College of Art in Gwent. For twelve years I taught Art in schools before taking a break to raise a family. I lived for many years on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and now I have moved up to the Highlands following my husband's retirement. Having enjoyed visiting Scotland on various walking trips we decided to come and live here. I am a member of the Spey Art Group, the Society of All Artists, Strathspey & Badenoch Society of Artists and Creative Cairngorms group and regularly exhibit in their shows.
Artists who influence me of course must include JMW Turner and Rowland Hilder but also contemporary artists David Bellamy Trevor Waugh and Hazel Soan.
Previously I had to rent a studio space but I will now have a spacious area in our new home in Grantown on Spey which we share with our son David who runs his own gardening maintenance business, "Birchwood Gardens".
